Cultivation advice Squash Autumn Crown F1

  • Sow seeds Mar ? May under cover with warmth provided.  The seeds may rot with insufficient temperature provided.
  • Best sown in individual pots 1 inch deep in well drained good quality seed type compost.
  • Germination 7-14 days @ 18-22 C.  Lower temperatures may cause failed germination.
  • Once germinated grow on in cooler conditions under cover.
  • After all danger of frost has passed (usually Mid May onwards), acclimatise young plants before planting out.
  • Best planted in soil heavily enriched with organic matter.
  • These plants need space to thrive, overcrowding may lead to poorer harvests.
  • Ready to harvest late autumn as foliage starts to die back and skins have hardened.
