Hot Chilli Pepper Trinidad Scorpion new. An extremely hot variety matching that of Naga Morich or Bhut Jolokia which should be used with care.  The 2-3 inch fruits are produced on larger than average vigorous plants maturing from green, through orange to red with a fruity flavour.  The fruits are named from the pointed pendant at the peppers base resembling a Scorpion tail.  The skin can be slightly wrinkled.  The plants do need a long season and germination temperatures must be high at 28-30c in order to successfully cultivate these.

Cultivation Advice Hot Chilli Pepper Trinidad Scorpion new

  • Greenhouse / Conservatory
  • Sow seeds 1/4″ deep in 3in pots with quality seed compost.  Keep moist.
  • Seedlings emerge in 10-21 days at 28-32 degrees C.
  • In the UK it is best to supply bottom heat with the aid of a propagation mat or propagator
  • Transplant to individual containers when seedlings have at least two pairs of leaves.
  • When 4-5 inches plant 18″ apart in greenhouse / conservatory with root ball 1/2″ below the soil surface.
  • Keep moist and feed when flowering with tomato type fertiliser.
  • Harvest when fruits have reached full-size and full colour.
