Hot Chili Pepper Chocolate Carolina Reaper

Carolina Reaper is officially the hottest pepper variety in the world reaching an average of 1.5 Million Scoville units. This is a naturally occuring chocolate varient of the parent yet to be heat tested. On tasting it has the same intense heat with a strong flora aroma and smoky flavour. The plants reach 90 cm with a compact habit and good yields. The fruits average 4-5cm in diameter maturing from green to a chocolate brown with a knarled look and pointed tail. These are genuine Carolina Reaper Seeds produced in isolated conditions and supplied directly from the commercial producer and fresh from the latest harvest. Handle seeds / mature pods or any material in contact with them with extreme care as contact with sensitive areas of skin or eyes can cause a severe burning sensation. This variety can be difficult to germinate and therefore not for the novice.

Cultivation Advice Hot Chili Pepper Chocolate Carolina Reaper

  • Greenhouse / Conservatory
  • Sow seeds 1/4″ deep in 3in pots with quality seed compost.  Keep moist.  Seedlings emerge in 10-21 days at 28-32 degrees C.
  • They will not germinate without artificial additional heat provided
  • Transplant to individual containers when seedlings have at least two pairs of leaves.
  • When 4-5 inches plant 18″ apart in greenhouse / conservatory with root ball 1/2″ below the soil surface.
  • Keep moist and feed when flowering with tomato type fertiliser.
  • Harvest when fruits have reached full-size and full colour.
