Begonia Semperflorens Heaven Red F1 is the ideal annual bedding plant, suitable for a wide range of climatic conditions. The compact 7-9in plants produce extremely attractive glossy bright green foliage and will flower profusely all summer. Choose “Devil”, its sister variety, for bronze foliage. Raw seed is like dust, therefore we only supply professional pelleted seed / pills which enable efficient and accurate sowing.

Cultivation Advice Begonia Semperflorens Heaven Red F1

• Best growing medium is free draining lightly fertilized fine seed compost.
• Surface sow pills individually in trays or plugs. Can be very lightly covered with fine vermiculite to maintain humidity.
• Seeds do require light to germinate.
• Soil germination temperature must be 22-24C for success. An unheated greenhouse or windowsill is not sufficient.
• Germination 10-15 days at correct temperature.
• If required transplant carefully when large enough to handle into 8cm (3in) pots, and grow on in cooler conditions. Sowing with pills should remove the need for pricking out seedlings.
• Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost has passed.
• Ideal in pots, containers, baskets or border bedding displays in full sun or part shade.
